So far, this disagreement with our landlord had used up 8 hours 10 minutes of hearing time at the LTB, in 8 hearings, one by telephone, five in person (counting the Case Management Hearing and mediation session of May 19, 2017 as hearings). It has also used up 7 hours and 50 minutes of a mediator’s time.
My roommate and I were preparing our defense against John’s L2 eviction application due to be heard on August 10.
John had not tried to enter the unit on August 3 or 4. Pollington was still hostile, and his guests were becoming hostile.
The kitchen floor was repaired in under three hours, not the seven days John had claimed the job would take on February 1, 2017.
So far, this disagreement with our landlord had used up 3 hours 30 minutes of hearing time at the LTB, in 4 hearings, one by telephone, one in person (counting the Case Management Hearing as a hearing). It has also used up 2 hours and 20 minutes of a mediator’s time. It has resulted in two responses by HPS to a complaint (one by the tenants). I’ll keep a running tally.
John tries to bully and gaslight Marie, trying to frame her for an offence under the RTA which would be grounds for eviction. John doesn’t realize (or doesn’t care) that she is recording him.
This will NOT be a rant against an evil landlord. This blog will be a detailed example of how far a landlord can go without any real consequences, the lack of any real protection at all for tenants in Hamilton from a landlord who refuses to do repairs and who is willing to harass and intimidate a tenant into moving. It is a clear failure of Municipal Law Enforcement, the Landlord Tenant Board and HPS. This is an example of the general inability of our legal system to deal with “sociopathic” behavior that is extremely disturbing and affects quality of life for everyone. Badly. The most well-known example would be the current POTUS, Donald Trump (and I’m not certain that Trump is a “sociopath”, since I’ve never met the man. But his behavior closely mimics what one would expect from someone suffering from NPD.)
July 19, 2017 – John and his crew were on the grounds, but made no attempt to enter the apartment. Marie was there all day, and I part of the day, and nobody ever knocked on the door. Our notes on John’s behavior for the day are here (Doc 141): Doc 141 – 2017-07-19 – […]
So, after two and a half years we were waiting for our “first” hearing. What a joke. Nothing much happened before the March 19, 2019 hearing date for John’s L1 application. Greenway had the L1 update filled in properly and was ready to go. One of the more useful aspects of an L1 application to […]

So my roomate called Agostino to complain. 2018-12-02 1229 Roomate call to Agostino about music from car We weren’t aware of it at the time, but Jeremy Stamper’s peace bond (resulting from his arrest for assault with a weapon on […]
