Monday, October 30, 2023 – I tried calling Constable Whittall (the cop who gave me his card after the assault) to find out what charges (if any) Dunnville OPP would be bringing against John Cerino, and whether or not I could upload the rest of the videos. The link went dead after the first video was uploaded. There were three in total.
The dispatcher had no information, other than Whittall would be on duty that evening and would call that evening.
I hadn’t heard back from Whittall at 10:30 pm, so I left another message.
Tuesday, October 31, 2023 – I called Dunnville OPP to try to speak to Constable Whittall. He wasn’t on duty and the dispatcher would not disclose when he would be on duty. She also claimed to not have any means to contact him.
She then corrected herself and said he was on duty that day and asked for my phone number. She then said she would send him an email and when he “came on duty he would call”. I got a bit irritated, because that was the same story I’d heard the day before, and she amended her remarks to say that “eventually, he will call you back”.
I was having trouble believing her; this was starting to feel very familiar from my experiences with HPS.
However, later that evening. Constable Whittall did call:
He informed me that John was being charged. He also told me John’s first appearance would be December 5, 2023. He also asked me if I’d picked up anything of John’s. At the time, I didn’t think I had, and I have no memory of picking them up. However, since I found them in my possession later, Whittall must have been telling the truth.

Hello Kazubek
John Cerino was arrested and charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of assault causing bodily harm by choking. He has an appearance in Cayuga on Dec 5, 2023, the day before his contempt hearing in Hamilton on Dec 6, 2023. I’ll keep you posted on any further appearances required as they happen, either criminal or civil. You may wish to submit those unavailable dates to the LTB to avoid scheduling conflicts.
Are you representing John Cerino in these criminal matters? I sincerely hope you are. (And that is God’s own truth. Kazubek’s win/loss ratio in criminal court is absolutely delightful. To a Crown Attorney. Not so much to his clients).
I remind your client that enforcement will proceed unless he settles his debt in full by 6 pm November 2, 2023.

Four hours until the deadline, gentlemen. In the interest of preserving the King’s peace, I urge you to discuss settlement. Enforcement will proceed (aggressively) if you choose to continue to ignore your obligations and responsibilities in this matter.
It should be apparent by now that Mr Cerino’s collection of aging ex street punks is no match for a single aging Horse Artillery ex-officer.
(This wasn’t the first assault by John, and during the period March 2020 to September of 2022 there were nine total assaults attempted against me by members of John’s crew. I got a couple of bruises out of it, John’s punks got broken bones (including at least two collar bones and an arm) and one was stabbed (with his own knife, the first of two that I’d taken away from him). I haven’t posted those events yet. I haven’t had any trouble of that kind from John’s crew since I stabbed that last asshole in September 2022.

We have confirmation that payments have been made to the court. We need the court to confirm that they will release the money to you when we conclude our agreement.
Proceed as you need to, John will advise the court at the examinations his wishes and that we are awaiting the court to confirm that they do intact have the funds paid in.

I assume you mean at the Contempt Hearing on Dec 6, 2023 in Hamilton, since John skipped the Examination Hearing. Please confirm that is what you meant.

After speaking with you on the telephone last evening, I searched through the vehicle I was driving on October 29, 2023.
There was a notebook (which I had thought was mine) which belongs to John Cerino (apparently we both buy notebooks from Dollarama). There was an insurance slip, two folded invoices from Estate sales/Scrap Metal and two plastic cards tucked inside the notebook. My notebook (which looks identical) is missing. I assume John picked that up at the same time he took my glasses.
I’d appreciate you letting John know I’ll drop off the notebook at 118-120 Wellington Street N when I serve Roy Wilkie (one of John’s tenants/employees) with a Garnishment Notice late next week.
He can keep mine; I don’t mind John knowing the sizes of filters required for various chillers, cooling towers and A/C’s in Hamilton. I doubt it’ll do him much good.

PS: Except for the insurance slip, which is easily replaceable, this looks like trash to me. (It turns out that wasn’t entirely correct. The telephone numbers in that notebook, as well as some of the entries made it a gold mine of information about John’s life and finances). The notebook is almost entirely blank. I’m not inclined to jump through any hoops. If John wants it back earlier he can make arrangements through his paralegal, Joseph Kazubek.
